Multisol UK Operates to the Highest Standards

Multisol UK operates to the highest standards of quality, professionalism, safety, health and environmental management, an ethos demanded of every employee. The company’s commitment towards Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE), is underlined by our voluntary participation in the “Responsible Care Initiative” of chemical distributors.

What is Responsible Care?

Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s commitment to continual improvement in health, safety, security and environmental performance and its openness in communication about its activities.

Multisol UK is committed to continual improvement and evolution of the HSSE and community engagement through the Chemical Business Association’s Responsible Care programme. The basis of this commitment and the attitude of all employees is that Responsible Care will help to reduce the potential dangers from incidents which could result in injury to persons or damage to the environment.

Multisol UK’s chief executive has appointed a Responsible Care co-ordinator and signed the company’s commitment to the eight guiding principles of Responsible Care. These are: Legal Requirements, Management of risk, Policies and documentation, Provision of information, Training, Emergency response, Ongoing improvements, Community interaction.

In addition to our commitment to the highest operational standards, Multisol UK is a member of the following industry and trade associations: United Kingdom Lubricants Association (UKLA), the Chemical Business Association (CBA), Verification of Lubricant Specifications (VLS), and the Union of the European Lubricants Industry (UEIL), and actively participates at board level.

Multisol UK holds accreditation for the following internationally recognised UKAS certification awards:

ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)

ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)

ISO 45001 (Workplace Health and Safety)

ESAD (the European Single Assessment Document)

ESAD is part of the SQAS programme and provides a voluntary assessment system to evaluate the quality, safety and security, and environmental performance of chemical distributors.

Multisol has been assessed using the ESAD/SQAS system since 2013. The single assessment is carried out by an independent auditor using a standard questionnaire, avoiding the need for distributors to undergo multiple assessment by chemical producers. The audit is also used by distributors to check their compliance to the eight guiding principles of Responsible Care.

Multisol’s Irlam site is assessed under the following parts of ESAD:

  • Distributor standard activities (Di)
  • Site assessment (S)

Additionally, and as further verification to our commitment to Responsible Care, assessments of Multisol UK take place every three years by an independent third party, ensuring the highest operational standards are maintained.
